PR in the UK

About me

Hi there! Thanks for visiting my blog. Originally developed as a University assignment, I promise to try and keep posting for as long as I can

What you need to know about me:

  • 25 going on 26
  • Former journalist turned PR student
  • Currently pursuing an MA in Public Communications and Public Relations at the University of Westminster, London
  • Spent five years as a journalist in Goa, India
  • What kind of journalism? Covered the crime, tourism and armed forces beats for three years. Was a feature writer for one-and-a-half and a deskie for the rest
  • My favourite assignments: Covering production of The Bourne Supremacy in Goa; participating in international Naval exercises (Exercise Malabar with the US Navy and Exercise Varuna with the French); exposing the rot in Goa’s prison system; uncovering an illegal immigration racket; working on the River Princess salvage case; making the police look like idiots in our newspaper’s Monday gossip column.
  • Why PR? Better money, less stress and nobody threatening to kill you (and actually meaning it)

What am I reading right now? TALESPIN Public Relations Disasters – Inside Stories and Lessons Learnt by Gerry McCusker and No Logo by Naomi Klein

What’s on my playlist? Eric Clapton Unplugged, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, Rachmaninov’s Piano Concertos
